RANAU: The cold weather phenomenon on Mount Kinabalu is recurring with temperature dropping to -5 degree Celsius.

The unusually cold weather with humidity of 17 per cent is resulting in exposed water in some parts of the mountain freezing. Water holes near Low’s Peak have frozen and formed ice of thickness about 1 centimetre.

The Auxiliary Force Mountain Search and Rescue Personnel (Mosar) said the temperature at Laban Rata at dawn was about between -3 to -5 degrees Celsius.
