PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar described Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli as someone who has never been afraid to speak the truth.
“He has offered ideas, strategies, and policies that have shaped how we think about governance, accountability, and economic reforms.
“I respect that. I admire that. And I want our party—and our country—to know that many of the ideas he has put forward will not be left behind,” she said.
“They will be embraced, refined, and implemented—not because they are his or mine, but because they are right for Malaysia,”.
Izzah said a mind like Rafizi’s will always be a force—whether as part of government or outside it.
“Our country needs bold ideas, and I believe he still has much to give.
“No matter where his journey takes him, I have no doubt that he will continue to shape the future of this nation in powerful ways,” she said.
Rafizi, who is the Economy Minister Datuk earlier announced his resignation from the Cabinet, effective June 17, 2025, following his defeat in the recent PKR elections.
Izzah said her focus remains on strengthening the party.
“We will continue to keep our executives in check and I intend to champion the work that needs doing and to constantly serve as a reminder that we do not deviate from the values that we hold dear,” she said.
She said the first initiative for the party is institutionalising training for all party leaders - at the central, state and divisional levels.
“This will be on the laws governing money laundering (AMLA); acts of corruption as well as tax adherence.
“Good governance must be built on a foundation of principles and knowledge.
We need to be the change that we want to see in others,” she added. – May 28, 2025
