The CBI has arrested Haryana Pollution Control Board staffer Saurabh Sharma in IDFC Bank fraud case. Sources said the suspect was employed in the accounts section.

The CBI produced him in a Panchkula court which remanded him in police custody for four days.

Earlier, the CBI arrested a senior IAS officer, Pankaj Aggarwal, for allegedly embezzling Rs 60.54 crore from the accounts of Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojana Parishad (HSSPP) and Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB), maintained with IDFC First Bank.

Aggarwal, then Principal Secretary in the Department of School Education and Department of Agriculture in the Haryana Government, was arrested on Monday after it emerged in the probe that accounts were opened in the bank’s Sector 32 branch in violation of the government guidelines, and later funds were transferred to it in excess of limits.
