The Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), YB Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, today officially announced the dates and key targets for the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia 2026 (IGEM 2026) during its soft launch.

Hosted by NRES and jointly organised with the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), IGEM 2026 will take place from 7 to 9 October 2026, under the theme “Race Towards Net Zero: Action Beyond Boundaries”. The theme underscores the urgency of collective climate action while reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. It also reflects the growing importance of sustainability and energy security amid increasing global supply chain disruptions and geopolitical uncertainties, which require coordinated action across sectors and borders.

This year’s edition is expected to generate RM22.5 billion in potential business leads, attract more than 60,000 visitors from 50 countries, and feature approximately 450 exhibition booths. A new dedicated sustainable lifestyle segment will also be introduced, showcasing green innovations in food and beverage, fashion, cosmetics, property development and clean mobility solutions, including electric vehicles and future transport technologies.

A key highlight of IGEM 2026 is the Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit (KLSS), which continues to position Malaysia as a regional hub for sustainability leadership, climate governance and green policy alignment. KLSS 2026 is expected to convene around 400 C-suite executives, senior policymakers, and institutional investors to strengthen regional cooperation and accelerate the low-carbon transition.

The programme will feature keynote addresses, fireside chats, and high-level panel discussions with both international and local experts.

Since its inception, IGEM has attracted over 700,000 visitors and generated more than RM86 billion in business leads, reinforcing its role as a major driver of Malaysia’s green economy. Entering its 17th year, IGEM continues to support businesses particularly SMEs in strengthening green supply chains through sustainable sourcing, low-carbon production, and responsible logistics, while connecting them to global ESG driven markets.

The success of IGEM and KLSS is underpinned by strong multi-stakeholder collaboration involving industry players, financial institutions, academia, civil society, and the public, in advancing Malaysia’s sustainability agenda and building a resilient low-carbon economy.
