HINDUS in the country will be ushering Deepavali tomorrow (Oct 24), which marks a significant day of the victory of good over evil.

The Festival of Lights is the most celebrated event in the community because Indians believe the subtle energy of abundance finds its way into their homes on this auspicious day.

While revellers would clean and decorate their homes to celebrate the important day, it is critical that merrymakers also prepare their minds, body and spirit within.

Deepavali is more than just eating sumptuous spicy food, and sweets and playing with fireworks.

It is the best day to relinquish yourself from hatred, free yourself from holding grudges, seek forgiveness and attain liberation.

The five pillars of Deepavali are to seek clemency, contentment, gratitude, happiness and peace within.

One of the critical elements of the festival is to forgive someone for their mistake and embrace the person with love and compassion.

The acts come quickly during the festive mood, and doing so on a favourable day will ease your heavy heart and mind and free your soul instantly.

It is not unusual for anyone to get offended by friends, colleagues, relatives or family members at some point due to their actions, gestures and choice of words, which could be unintentional.

More extraordinary is to pardon the person and remove the incident from your mind so that both the affected individuals can enjoy peace of mind and have a positive and harmonious relationship.

Deepavali’s ultimate aim is a divine process that is a peaceful union and strengthening ties with one another.

The decisive act of excuse itself is healing for both parties, and it does not matter who makes the first move.

Next, you should be satisfied with what you have and not what you don’t because many people suffer without food, shelter and comfort.

Displaying fulfillment for the good you enjoy every day from the time you wake up till you go to sleep is a virtuous sign of improving what you have.

Do not take the good you enjoy daily for granted but cherish the moments.

Be thankful for the breath you wake up to and the food you consume daily. Celebrate the bond and laughter with your family, and enjoy your ongoing health.

A regular respectful attitude to the universe can enhance your happiness and satisfaction about life.

It can turn the setbacks you have been experiencing into acceptance and give you a better understanding of life.

Remember, no challenges come before you to cause you misery but provide you with a pathway to awareness about life.

Also, it comes to you because the

divine knows you can handle it and learn from it and emerge better and stronger.

Say ‘’Thank you” as often as you can, and it does not mean that you no longer have dreams or visions in your life.

The power of gratefulness is that it brings a higher level of happiness.

The thankfulness you vibrate can be contagious and automatically brings a smile and happiness to anyone you come in contact with.

Happiness cannot be purchased or created through material gains but must be found within.

You are already on the pathway to finding happiness when you embrace contentment.

Change your thoughts and train your mind with positive reviews to guide you to this passageway.

You can enjoy the desired behaviour by reprogramming your mind, which governs your attitude.

No one can escape from problems, but if your thoughts are pure and right, such issues can resolve quickly.

For those celebrating Deepavali, burn the light within first to remove the darkness and welcome happiness.

Happy Deepavali.
