LEADERS within the Royal Malaysia Police have been reminded to remain firmly anchored to the principles of trust, exemplary leadership and integrity, as the force continues to refresh its top management in response to evolving security challenges.
The reminder was delivered by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail in his address at the Rank Insignia Ceremony and the handover of duties for two director-level portfolios at the Senior Officers’ Mess, Bukit Aman, on Wednesday.
Mohd Khalid stressed that police leaders must lead by example, prioritise the welfare of officers and the community, and uphold professionalism and integrity in the execution of their duties.
He said leadership appointments and reshuffles are part of the force’s long-term strategic planning to strengthen and rejuvenate the organisation known as the Sang Saka Biru.
According to him, such changes are intended to enhance operational effectiveness, reinforce governance and ensure that the Royal Malaysia Police remains relevant, resilient and competitive in facing increasingly complex and dynamic security threats.
He also underscored the importance of maintaining public trust, embracing technology and innovation, building strategic partnerships, strengthening capacity development among personnel and sustaining a high level of preparedness to address future security challenges.
During the ceremony, the post of Director of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department was formally handed over by Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri to Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, who previously served as head of the Bukit Aman Anti-Money Laundering Crime Investigation Team.
The handover was witnessed by Mohd Khalid.
In a separate transfer, the position of Director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department was handed over by Datuk Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad to Mohd Yusri, in line with the senior police officers’ transfer directive that had been announced earlier.
The ceremony began with the presentation of the Commissioner of Police rank insignia to Muhammed Hasbullah, which was officiated by the Inspector-General of Police in the presence of invited guests.
This was followed by the signing of official documents and the symbolic handover of the baton of authority, signifying the transfer of responsibility and trust to the newly appointed leaders.
At the same event, the handover of duties for the position of head of the Bukit Aman Anti-Money Laundering Crime Investigation Team also took place, with Muhammed Hasbullah handing over the role to his successor, Datuk Fazlisyam Abd Majid.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, members of the PDRM senior management, department directors and other senior officers from Bukit Aman, reflecting the significance of the leadership transition within the force. - January 7, 2025
