The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched an Industry Membership Programme to build long-term strategic partnerships with industry through structured collaboration in research, innovation and institutional engagement.

The programme, to be implemented by the institute’s Corporate Relations Office, aims to strengthen industry-academia ties through deeper faculty engagement with corporate partners. It will also support thematic research, innovation programmes, and give industry members access to facilities such as research labs, library resources and customised training programmes.

Under the initiative, IIT Delhi has introduced three membership categories — Silver (Rs 10 lakh per annum), Gold (Rs 20 lakh per annum) and Platinum (Rs 50 lakh per annum). The memberships will allow organisations to collaborate with the institute in research, innovation, talent development and institutional initiatives.

The institute said members enrolled under the programme will get early access to patents, technologies and research outputs developed at IIT Delhi.

Key features include dedicated relationship management, opportunities to co-create research agendas, long-term collaborations, access to faculty and research labs, and curated industry engagement platforms such as CXO roundtables, leadership forums and CSR conclaves.

“We believe this initiative will create a strong platform for sustained industry-academia engagement, enabling meaningful research collaborations, innovation-driven partnerships and greater participation from leading organisations across sectors,” said Jayant Jain.

“The programme also aligns with India’s growing focus on strengthening indigenous research, innovation and industry-led R&D to support the nation’s vision of becoming a global knowledge and technology powerhouse,” he added.
