I can remember reading the 2020 Peace Proposal 2020 titled “Toward Our Shared Future: constructing an Era of Human Solidarity' presented by the late Dr. Daisaku Ikeda at the United Nations, focusing on three commitments. "The first commitment must be that we never leave behind those struggling in difficult circumtances. The seond commitment regards the importance of taking joint and constructive action rather than just communicating a shared sense of crisis. The third commitment concerns efforts to make the next ten years a decadeof action by young people as an integral action elements of SDGs 2030." (www.daisakuikeda.org; www.sgi.org)
I understand every since 1983, SGI President has authored peace proposals directed toward the international community that address issues facing humanity, suggesting solutions & responses grounded empowering individuals toward positive global change for peace.
At our collaborative roundtable, SGM President Johnny Ng aptly reiterated & rightly echo another quote of Dr. Ikeda “Education must inspire that each of us has both the power and the responsibility to effect positive change on a global scale.” Guided by the shared goal of contributing peace, culture and education based on respect for the dignity of life, SGM developed activities in line with socities.
