
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah police reportedly conducted a statewide anti-gambling operation during the Chinese New Year and arrested 35 people, the oldest of whom was 75 years old.
SAC Azmi Abdul Rahim, director of the state police's Criminal Investigation Department, said the detainees included 23 men and 12 women aged between 20 and 75 years old, OCDN reported.
He said that from February 5 to 15, the police carried out 10 operations in the state's capital, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud and Semporna.
"We also seized RM54,911 in cash," he said.
