Kota Kinabalu: Parti Impian Sabah Youth Chief Ted Kelvin Sudin called for clean politics, fiscal justice and youth unity for a stronger Sabah.

“The issue of corruption is not just a legal problem, but one of values and integrity.”Asked how the party will promote clean governance, transparency and political accountability, he said it implemented an anti-corruption framework last year, requiring all members to take a formal pledge declaring themselves free of corruption.

The party has also introduced a two-term limit for all elected representatives. He said this was to prevent prolonged power and encourage leadership renewal.

While advocating for Sabah’s fiscal rights, Sudin believes in maintaining strong, cooperative relations with the federal government.

On the idea of shifting the focus from “Sabah for Sabahans” to ‘Sabahans for Sabah’ which emphasises responsibility and shared contribution, he said Sabah had long been inclusive and united, but now Sabahans must take strong ownership of their rights and resources which are being eroded over time.

Sudin reminded youths to choose leaders wisely and not to vote based on emotions, money or gossip. It is important to use reason and values to support leaders who prove their integrity through action.

“We must have the courage to challenge old political habits and build a new foundation for Sabah’s political future.

“Change will not happen overnight, but if we act sincerely and with genuine hearts, we will surely see transformation take place,” he said.
