Kota Kinabalu: Public-private partnership (PPP) should be put to good practice to tackle road congestion involving transport infrastructure and green transport, said Malaysia Association of Public Advocacy for Nature (Mapan) Chairman Ben Ong.
He said City Hall (DBKK) can engage with local universities to do traffic counts and the local communities can provide users’ input.
“City Hall has higher sustainable development goal (SDG) standards to follow in terms of eco-green features, including traffic dispersion,” he said during a recent webinar hosted by the Sabah Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILTM).
Ong was one of the panellists for the webinar titled “Understanding ESG in Infrastructures Upgrading to Tackle Road Congestion and For Sustainable Environment.”
