Kota Kinabalu: Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil said the agencies under his ministry are ready to assist in improving in-building internet coverage in the city.

He said they will help with the necessary measures to reduce connectivity issues inside buildings.

“Internet access outside is not a problem; it’s just that sometimes there are minor connectivity glitches inside buildings, depending on our vendors.

“We have already informed the Mayor about this issue so that we can address the needed improvements in connectivity,” he told reporters after officiating the Pesta Seni Tradition In Tune 2024 event at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here, recently.

Meanwhile, Fahmi praised the Pesta Seni Tradition In Tune 2024 as an excellent platform for engaging the younger generation.

“This programme not only featured cultural art exhibitions but also technology-related programs such as e-sports competitions and virtual reality (VR) art exhibitions.

“This creates opportunities for young people, especially those around Kota Kinabalu, to enjoy a blend of culture and the latest technology,” he said.

Organising Chairman Jawed said that through the festival, PPASM aims to create a bridge between tradition and modernity.

He added that their goal is to welcome delegations from 60 countries to participate in the festival within the next five years.

“Initially, we were set to host 125 delegations from 11 countries this year. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel their participation.

“However, I am optimistic that next year we will aim to welcome delegations from 18 to 22 countries, especially if we get support from the government.

“I am confident we will succeed in making this festival an international cultural hub and a global platform for cultural exchange and growth,” he said.

The three-day festival, which concluded on Wednesday, featured events such as musical theatre, art exhibitions, craft activities, virtual reality (VR) art, e-sports competitions, performances by local artists, and the Pertandingan Kebudayaan dan Tradisi Kebangsaan 2024.
