Alexandria "Ali" Joy Lowitzer was a 16-year-old girl who lived in Spring, Texas with her mother, Jo Ann, and her brother, Mason. She was a Girl Scout who loved to sing and play softball, and had a small group of friends. On April 26, 2010, Ali called her mother and asked if she could walk to her new job at the Burger Barn to pick up her paycheck and possibly work an extra shift. After some pleading, her mother finally agreed and told Ali she would see her at home after work. However, when Jo Ann returned home at 5 pm, Ali was not there and did not respond to her text messages.
At first, Jo Ann assumed that Ali was working and could not answer, but panic set in when she went to Burger Barn to pick her up at closing time and found the restaurant closed. Jo Ann contacted Ali's father, John, and her new boyfriend, DJ, but neither of them had heard from her. Ali was reported missing that night, but it took a week for an investigation to begin.
Surveillance footage showed Ali leaving Spring High School after classes and getting on the bus. She texted her friends about plans to hang out at her house later in the week. She got off the bus at her usual stop, which was 250 feet away from her home, at 3 pm. She walked in the opposite direction, presumably toward Burger Barn, which was 1/4 mile away. However, Ali never arrived at the restaurant, and her paycheck was not picked up. She left behind all of her personal belongings, including her clothes, purse, phone charger, makeup, and some cash. Her phone was never used again, and she did not have a license or any ID.

Initially, Ali's friends had no idea where she might have gone, but a couple of years later, they admitted that she was seeing an older man when she went missing. However, his identity remains unknown. Ali was last seen wearing a white top, a gray hoodie, black and white checkered skinny jeans, black sneakers, and carrying a multi-colored checkered backpack. She would be 28 years old today.
