Much can be—and has been—said about Jonathan Anderson taking the helm as Dior’s Creative Director for Womenswear, Menswear and Haute Couture. And now that his debut collections for the Maison have been unveiled, it’s time to peel back the layers of the Spring-Summer 2026 campaign.
The starring roles? Actors Greta Lee, Louis Garrel, and Paul Kircher, footballer Kylian Mbappé, along with models Laura Kaiser, Sunday Rose and Saar Mansvelt Beck. The mise en scène is inventive. These characters appear at rest within the spaces; perfectly poised, relaxed, in-rehearsal or mid-transformation. The photographs, both in colour and black and white, are true visual sketches, concise yet meaningful and can be thoroughly read through body language, clothing, and ambience.

Shot by photographer David Sims, the campaign sees the players conduct themselves in the everyday, navigating the space with a sense of calm, all while being juxtaposed with the bold textures of Anderson’s designs. Wooden panelling and parquet flooring feature, with minimal furniture against a spare yet poignant background, shot in Sims’ trademark style of modernism and plain backdrops with graphic posing. There’s a certain charm in the beautifully hazy direction of the campaign.

The clothes, of course, are of equal elegance. Built around an aristocratic-like setting, the Maison’s SS26 collection makes an even deeper connection between youthful spontaneity and affluence of the past. Here, formality is reconstructed: sharply cut frockcoats meet slouchy denim; 18-19th century French embroideries sprout across sweaters and sneakers. (Incidentally, the photographs too bring together the present and the past via archive references.)

The Dior Jett bag makes an appearance, first unveiled at the SS26 show. Crafted from Dior Oblique jacquard canvas, the bag is both supple and structured — made for the modern utilitarian. The bag comes in two refined models, Messenger and Backpack, crafted to fit the ideal workday. The Maison’s beloved Book Tote is also featured, with a redone look perfectly in line with its primary inspiration. Book covers in embroidery format decorate the fabric tote bag; in this case, it’s Dracula by Bram Stoker and In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.

The new Dior Bow bag also plunges into the scene, just as practical but with a touch of softness. Its unique structure — in the shape of a bow, an iconic Dior code — makes it a true fashion statement. Photographed against the soft setting, the Dior Bow adds yet another charming, dreamy touch to the overall shoot.
