Futuroscope, famous for its immersive and futuristic experiences, has just been named the world’s best theme park by Tripadvisor — yet another accolade to add to its growing list of awards.
Roller coasters, adrenaline at every turn, rides for all ages: theme parks are among the few places in the world entirely devoted to fun, whatever your age. Yet not all parks are created equal. That is precisely why Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards have ranked the best amusement and water parks across the globe. And despite fierce competition, it is a French park that has claimed the top spot: Futuroscope. Already highly decorated, the park stands out for its futuristic approach, combining technology, thrills, and immersive experiences.
A theme park unlike any other
Futuroscope continues to shine on the international stage. After sweeping up several awards in recent years — including three Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement, often considered the Oscars of the theme park industry — the French park is continuing its remarkable rise.
The park, located near Poitiers, occupies a truly unique position in the entertainment world: entirely focused on technology, science, and innovation, it offers immersive and sensory experiences that combine visual projections, futuristic attractions, and interactive performances. Spread across 60 hectares, the site features 25 original experiences, ranging from 4D attractions and monumental sculptures to outdoor games and aquatic worlds. Among the must-see attractions are Tornado Chasers, which plunges visitors into the heart of a spectacular storm, and The Greenhouse of Worlds, where animated walls bring flora and fauna to life.
This year, Futuroscope was named the world’s best theme park in Tripadvisor’s 'Amusement & Water Parks' category at the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards. Based on reviews posted by travellers over the past twelve months, the award recognises venues that have received an exceptionally high volume of positive feedback. According to Tripadvisor, fewer than 1% of the platform’s roughly eight million listed establishments achieve this level of recognition — which says it all.
