Summer 2026 is going to be super exciting at Walt Disney World in Florida, as the USA's most-loved park introduces new rides, character moments, and refreshed classics. The rollout will take place across all four parks, featuring Bluey, the Muppets, Star Wars, and a patriotic Soarin' tribute to America's 250th birthday.
Disney World in Florida is always a fun idea in the summer. However, this year feels extra special as the world's most-visited vacation resort introduces new rides and attractions. Across the vast Florida resort, familiar attractions are being refreshed, beloved characters are stepping into the spotlight, and entirely new experiences are arriving for visitors of all ages. From Bluey's long-awaited Disney World debut to a patriotic EPCOT attraction celebrating America's 250th birthday, the resort is giving travellers plenty of reasons to plan a trip. According to Travel + Leisure, Disney World's new attractions for summer 2026 are its biggest family-focused summer programmes in recent years. This becomes extra special after the franchise introduced similar immersive experiences across Europe and Asia. Now, many of the family-friendly additions arriving in Florida follow the same approach, placing guests directly inside the stories and characters they love.

Disney World, Florida new attractions
The new summer lineup is built around a simple idea: give families more to do with new, limited-time, and reimagined experiences. Instead of focusing on one headline act, the new attractions are spread across all four parks, ensuring there's something for every traveller, whether they are travelling with toddlers, teenagers, or lifelong Disney fans. Here are the new changes coming your way at Disney World in Florida this summer 2026.
Rock' n' Roller Coaster starring The Muppets
One of the most anticipated additions can be found at Hollywood Studios, with Muppets taking over Rock' n' Roller Coaster. Witness the chaotic energy of Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as you race through a high-speed musical adventure. While the coaster itself remains as thrilling as ever, the storytelling has been completely reimagined. Expect plenty of Muppet humour, hidden references, and familiar faces throughout the experience.

A new mission on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Star Wars fan? Head to the Hollywood Studios and enjoy an all-new mission inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu in celebration of the franchise's upcoming movie, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. This update has new destinations, fresh gameplay elements, and additional storylines that make repeat rides feel different from previous visits.
Bluey's Wild World
The Australian animated phenomenon has taken over Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom. For families travelling with young children, this is perhaps the most exciting addition. Get to meet Bluey and Bingo at a dance party and take part in Heeler-themed games. Visitors reach the area via the Wildlife Express Train, turning the attraction into a small adventure before the experience even begins.
Soarin' Across America at EPCOT
Created to celebrate America's 250th birthday, Soarin' Across America is a new version of the fan favourite Epcot attraction. Debuting for a limited time, the experience will take guests on a journey over some of the country's most iconic landscapes and landmarks. From Hawaii's dramatic coastline to Mount Rushmore and sweeping natural scenery, nothing is off limits in this attraction.

Cool KIDS' summer Activities
Beyond the rides, Disney is bringing back its Cool KIDS' summer programme. This will run from May 26 to September 8 and feature special character appearances, interactive activities, and dance parties. At Magic Kingdom, Jessie takes centre stage in Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue, while EPCOT welcomes the return of GoofyCore, a playful experience filled with games, music, and energetic performances.
Reimagined Disney classics at Disney World
Additionally, several classic favourites have received a new look at Disney World in Florida this summer. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, one of Magic Kingdom's most enduring attractions, has been updated with a smoother ride experience, scenic enhancements, and a lower height requirement, making it accessible to even more families. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin has also introduced upgraded gameplay, improved blasters, and a new animatronic character named Buddy.
Meanwhile, in the latter half of the Summer, Hollywood Studios will debut The Magic of Disney Animation. The new experience will celebrate the studio's creative legacy through interactive exhibits, character encounters, and family-friendly activities. There's also Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, which will bring Mickey and friends to the stage in a lively musical production.
For first-time visitors, summer 2026 offers a chance to experience Disney World during a period of transformation. For returning guests, there is enough new content to make another trip worthwhile.
