MANILA, Philippines — Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) are set to stage the third day of their protest at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on Thursday.
The move comes after the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (QC-DPOS) revoked the group's permit to hold another rally at the EDSA People Power Monument, citing disruptions to residents who were unable to report for work and the protesters' alleged violation of an agreement to confine the demonstration to White Plains.
Organizers announced on stage Wednesday that the protest would instead continue at Liwasang Bonifacio, a designated freedom park where a permit is not required.
The Manila Times has sought comment from the Manila city government but has yet to receive a response.
