
KENINGAU: Incumbent Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan faces three other candidates in the contest for the Keningau parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election on Nov 19.
Jeffrey, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, faces PKDM candidate Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin, Warisan’s Rasinin Kautis and PH candidate Grelydia Gillod.
In the previous outing, Jeffrey, who contested on a Star ticket, won with a slim majority of 45 votes over Jake, then a Warisan candidate.
Meanwhile, GTA candidate Jeffrus Mimin Rijan's nomination paper was rejected for not submitting his election statement.
