RANAU: State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun (pic) said investigations into the Indah Permai murder case are in their final stages and will soon be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.

He said several arrests have been made, mostly involving family members of the main suspect, to assist in the investigation, while efforts to locate two remaining body parts of the deceased are ongoing without new leads.

Jauteh said police believe the missing parts may have been taken by wild animals or mixed with other waste, and confirmed that the suspect’s remand order remains in effect.

On the flood situation, he said 33 temporary evacuation centres have been opened in Pitas and Beluran, with more than 100 personnel deployed to the affected districts under Kota Marudu and Beluran, supported mainly by heavy vehicles due to inaccessible routes caused by adverse weather.

He added that Op Selamat, which ends on Feb 23, has so far recorded no fatal accidents, marking an improvement from last year when fatalities were reported.
