Independence must be defended: Raisin

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Education Director Datuk Raisin Saidin said the independence that was fought for together by our predecessors must be defended.

“National independence is fought for by Malaysians of various races. Malaysia’s success was built on joint efforts. For that, the independence of the country and its people must continue to be defended,” he said.

Raisin said the community should not allow the land nor our minds to be recolonised.

“Let us continue to revive independent thinking and spirit and continue to adhere to the concept of justice and equality, strive to eliminate poverty and ensure that prosperity can be enjoyed together.

Independence Carnival and the 2024 Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Adventure Convoy celebration.

The carnival that started early in the morning featured various performances by Pentarama and members of the State Education Department.

Also present was Sabah Information Director Jainisah Mohd Noor who is also the leader of the KMJG 2024 convoy.
