Kota Kinabalu: The days when qualified independent candidates could jump to political parties needing them and be possibly rewarded are gone with the passing of the anti-hop law in Parliament recently.

Hence, the reason the public should vote for credible independent candidates, says veteran former member of parliament and state legislative assemblyman Datuk Hiew King Cheu, who leads the Justice of Sabah (JFS) movement.

During this GE15 campaigning period, Hiew is mentoring seven independent candidates vying for seven parliamentary constituencies in Sabah from Tenom to Kudat. They include Marcel Jude Joseph, Datuk Norbert Chin and Richard Jimmy.
