TELECOM infrastructure builder iSON Tower Ltd. will upgrade the information communications systems of four facilities of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the agency said on Friday.
These are the Cavite, Mactan, Baguio and Pampanga ecozones.
A memorandum of understanding for the project was signed on Feb. 3 by PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and iSON Tower chairman Vivek Gupta, and witnessed by PEZA Acting Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning Emmanuel Cortero and iSON Tower country manager Rahul Singh.
“We welcome this partnership and are committed to delivering meaningful, long-term development across our ecozones,” Panga said in a statement.
“iSON Tower is committed to enabling resilient, scalable and inclusive digital infrastructure that supports national growth priorities. Through this collaboration, we aim to support business continuity, attract high-quality investments and contribute to the country’s long-term digital transformation,” Gupta said.
The company, a subsidiary of the India-based iSON Group, specializes in building, owning and operating shared telecommunications infrastructure, particularly for 5G, across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Accredited by the Department of Information Communications and Technology, it provides Build-to-Suit and Buy-and-Lease-Back services to improve network coverage.
Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s state visit to India, the iSON Group announced in August 2025 it is investing $300 million to boost the Philippines’ digital infrastructure over the next decade with 300 to 400 new towers annually, utilizing infrastructure sharing to promote cost-efficient network expansion for major mobile operators.
PEZA’s partnership with iSON Tower aligns with the government’s National Broadband Plan to accelerate the country’s digital transformation by investing in, constructing, and managing fiber-optic cable and 5G wireless technology.
