Kota Kinabalu: Indians in Sabah, regardless of their nationality, are welcomed to join the Sabah Indian Association (SIA) to strengthen the community.

SIA Organising Chairperson Datuk Dr G. Mohan Gopal Naidoo said SIA is one of the oldest associations in Sabah, existing for 75 years now.

“The only criteria is that you must be an Indian but not necessarily from Malaysia. In 1947, when SIA was established, Malaysia was not even formed yet. The same rules are preserved and we welcome expatriates as well,” he said.
