KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman received a courtesy call from Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Raden Datuk Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo, at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Aug 13.
During the meeting, Mohammad Iman expressed Indonesia’s interest in strengthening strategic cooperation with Sabah through investment and trade in various potential sectors.
“We hope to see greater investment and trade opportunities between Indonesia and Sabah while further strengthening existing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including education.
“Therefore, we will return here with a business delegation to explore the various potential opportunities involving several industrial sectors, including renewable energy, minerals and manufacturing,” he told the media after the courtesy call.
Mohammad Iman said the visit was also aimed at formally introducing himself after assuming his duties in Malaysia last January.
He urged Indonesians intending to work in Malaysia, particularly Sabah, to always use legal channels and comply with local laws.
Also present was Indonesian Consul-General in Kota Kinabalu Noorman Effendi.
Meanwhile, in MELAKA, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor paid a courtesy call on Melaka Governor Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam at Istana Melaka, Bukit Beruang.
The visit also served as a platform to strengthen ties and exchange views on various matters of mutual interest to Sabah and Melaka.
Hajiji arrived with his delegation at 3.35pm and was received by Tun Mohd Ali.
He was accompanied by State Rural Development Minister Datuk Rubin Balang, State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar and Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Razali Mohd Razi.
Both sides discussed various matters before the visit concluded with afternoon tea.
