JAKARTA, March 2 — Indonesia’s election commission (KPU) today said it would continue its preparations for elections next year, despite a surprise ruling by a district court in Jakarta for it to halt all election processes. The head of the KPU, Hasyim Asy’ari, told a news conference the poll body would appeal, without giving a timeframe.
