SHAH ALAM, April 21 - Indonesia is ready to facilitate business engagements for Selangor ahead of the upcoming Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS)@ASEAN in Bandung, including coordinating meetings with key stakeholders and relevant ministries.
Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Datuk Raden Mohammad Iman Hascarya said they welcome Selangor’s initiative to bring the investment platform to Bandung and are working closely to ensure smooth coordination between both sides.
“We are preparing the welcoming (arrangements) and coordinating all business interests,” he told Media Selangor on the sidelines of the Tautan Muhibah programme organised by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, at Setia City Convention Centre yesterday.
He was commenting on Indonesia’s expectations and preparations for the event, given the republic’s selection as the first host country for SIBS@ASEAN.

Raden added that coordination is ongoing with Indonesia’s diplomatic and trade representatives to support engagement between the business communities of both countries.
The country is also planning to facilitate high-level engagements, including meetings with government leaders in Jakarta.
“We look forward to the delegation’s visit,” he said.
SIBS@ASEAN, organised by Invest Selangor Bhd, aims to expand the business summit’s regional footprint.
The event in Bandung is scheduled for July 9 and July 10.
Previously, Invest Selangor’s chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris said that Bandung was chosen as its economic profile is similar to Selangor’s, as both are the main drivers of their respective national economies.
Similarly, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state is looking into bringing SIBS abroad to cement Selangor’s position as Southeast Asia’s main investment hub.
