KOTA KINABALU: A 20-year-old Indonesian factory worker, Fransiskus Xaferius Agusto, was charged with raping a 15-year-old girl whom he befriended online in Tuaran.
He appeared in Sessions Court on Thursday, pleading not guilty.
The alleged offence occurred in a hotel room on Sept 1, 2024.
Fransiskus faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
He was granted bail of RM6,000, with conditions including monthly police reporting and passport surrender, and is due back in court on Apr 15.
