
KINABATANGAN: An Indonesian man is feared to have drowned after falling from a ferry transporting goods at the Ladang Tomanggong river here, Sunday evening.
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Azlan Shah Jamalludin said they rushed to the scene of the incident after receiving an emergency call at 1.22pm.
However, the rescue team arrived at the location at 4.40pm after travelling 192km to the location.
According to Azlan, the complainant said the 45-year-old victim fell from the ferry carrying goods while crossing the river at 9.55am.

Read more “The search and rescue operation was then started with the help of a villager’s boat and a boat belonging to the Tomanggong Farm.
“The operation includes a search radius of 3km by searching the river around the location where the victim was reported to have fallen,” he said in a statement to the media.
The victim has not been found and the search operation will continue on Monday.
