The action of a recent divorcee in Kediri in East Java, Indonesia caught the attention of netizens online recently after he marked the split from his wife by holding a lavish ‘divorce celebration’.
A video and photos of the event were shared online by @verdaseptiana.xx on TikTok, with the video in particular garnering over 3.5 million views and 158,600 likes as of the time of writing.
Holding a ‘divorce celebration’ after splitting up from wife
In the viral video, the recent divorcee, known as Rian, can be seen sitting among the crowd at what looks like a typical wedding reception in Indonesia, while a stage full of people were singing and dancing.
In reality, the ceremony was actually him celebrating his divorce, with @verdaseptiana.xx cheekily pointing this out by writing this on the overlaid text of the video:

Meanwhile, in the caption, she congratulated Rian on being single again and noted how his divorce ceremony is as lavish as his wedding ceremony.

Rian even sent out invitation cards for his divorce celebration
In the comments section, many netizens were sceptical of the ceremony being a divorce celebration, with many also asking what the invitation card looked like.
@verdaseptiana.xx then replied to these popular comments in separate TikTok posts and shared several photos of Rian’s divorce celebration.
In 1 post, @verdaseptiana.xx shared Rian’s invitation card for the event, with the event name being ‘Divorce Celebration’.
In 2 other TikTok posts, @verdaseptiana.xx shared photos of a congratulatory signboard made of flowers Rian received for his divorce, with 1 asserting, “Happy divorce Rian. Congratulations on becoming a divorcee,”.
Besides that, @verdaseptiana.xx also shared a photo of Rian with 2 women who helped him organise the event, though their faces were covered by stickers.
