KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — Indonesian singer Widi Viarratale is being investigated by police after she took off her top during a concert at Palu, Central Sulawesi in October.
This followed a report lodged against the 32-year-old by community representative Zainul Arifin, Detik reported.
“The behaviour is not an example for the younger generation,” he reportedly said.
Widi now faces jail term and a fine of RM1.4 million.
In a statement, Widi said her act was normal for performers.
But due to social media, the incident went viral.
“In all of my performances, I will have interaction with the audience. It has also been done by other performers. They are used to doing it,” she said.
“I was actually still wearing a sports bra. I was not naked,” she added in her defence.
