The Indonesian police confirmed that the disappearance of the 22-year-old Malaysian influencer in an Indonesian forest was PURELY content.
YouTuber Ammar Nazhan, who led the team for the content recently announced that the “missing” influencer, Eyka lost contact with the team for 3 days before she was “found” on Wednesday night.
Ammar also responded to all allegations online about the matter being a hoax, saying the tragedy that took place was not a hoax.
“We didn’t ask for this to happen. We’re leaving to another villa now because this is haunted, and Eyka is feeling depressed.”
“Please be sensitive about what you say. Stop making the situation worse,” Ammar said in his Instagram post.
Despite his confirmation that nothing was planned, the Indonesian police, however, couldn’t say the same.
The content was done to boost views and increase followers
The Indonesian police also said Ammar and his team created the paranormal content and told everyone that Eyka allegedly went missing because he wanted to boost engagement for his channel, reported Sinar Harian.
The authorities were NOT happy with the team.
“They didn’t realize that we have strict laws against the spreading of fake news. They also did not get approval from the authorities for their shoot.”
However, the authorities said that the group of YouTubers and influencers have apologised for the matter, and promised not to repeat it.
Earlier, Eyka was reported missing on Monday night and Ammar lodged a police report 48 hours after “her disappearance.”
