Indonesian preacher to hold Tawau programme

TAWAU: Indonesian preacher Prof Dr Ustaz Abdul Somad will hold a programme here in September.

Apas Assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said as part of the “Junjungan Teladan Sepanjang Zaman” programme, two main events would be held, namely the Ceramah Perdana (premier lecture) and Kuliah Subuh (morning lecture), where the Ustaz will speak.

He said the premier lecture will take place at Masjid Al-Khautar on Sept 2 starting at 8 pm, while the morning lecture will be held at the Tawau Raya Mosque on Sept 3.

“This is his first visit in conjunction with his pilgrimage to Tawau,” he said.

The programme is organised by the Apas Constituency office in collaboration with the Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS), Tawau Municipal Council (MPT), Al Khautar Mosque, Raya Mosque and several other strategic partners.

Earlier, Nizam who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, was present to officiate the At-Taufiqah Mosque in Kg Kinabutan Tiku Batu 5 1/2 Jalan Apas.

He reminded the congregation to continue encouraging the mosque with various religious activities that will bring them closer to religion.

“Make this mosque a place to unite and avoid division for the sake of blessings from Allah swt,” he said.

He also presented a donation of RM20,000 to the mosque.
