
KENINGAU: Police here arrested four Indonesian men aged 17 to 37 on suspicion of being involved in the murder of a 47-year-old male compatriot on Aug 27.
Keningau District Police Chief Police Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai said they received a report at about 9.50pm on Aug 29.
“A local man who was on duty to patrol the gardens in Kampung Batu 27, Jalan Tenom-Keningau, saw the victim lying unconscious but still breathing.
“The victim was taken to Keningau Hospital for further treatment but died due to internal bleeding in the brain the next day. There was a lump on his head believed from a bruise,” he said.

Yampil said a Keningau Criminal Investigation Division team arrested all four men in separate locations last Saturday between 8am and 3pm at the roadside of Kampung Bunga Raya, Keningau, and in front of an unnumbered house in the oil palm plantation of Sapong, Tenom.
He said all the suspects are now detained for further investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
On behalf of the Keningau force, Yampil thanked the community for information leading to the arrests.
He also advised the public not to speculate on the case on social media which would affect the investigations.
