
Kota Kinabalu: Indonesians in Sabah celebrated their country’s 78th Independence Day at the Indonesian Consulate office, here, Thursday.
During the event, Consul-General Rafail Walangitan, on behalf of Indonesian nationals, expressed appreciation to the Sabah Government for continuing to maintain good relations with the neighbouring country.
There are more than 130,000 Indonesians in Sabah, 80 per cent of whom are estate workers.
Rafail said some 20,000 of the migrants’ children are currently attending schools in the State.
