  • More than 150 firefighters and 50 emergency vehicles were deployed to battle the inferno after being called to the 3rd arrondissement at approximately 4.15am on Monday.
  • The blaze consumed around 1,000 square metres of space and caused at least two-thirds of the historic monument's metal structure to collapse.
  • No civilian casualties were reported, though one firefighter received medical attention at the scene after feeling unwell.
  • French authorities have launched an official investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which currently remains unknown.
