If you’re currently using an Infinix device, there’s a good chance that it’s powered by a processor from MediaTek. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has traditionally used MediaTek processors, but it seems that that’s about to change as Infinix has announced its plans to adopt Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms across select smartphone models.

In particular, Infinix has confirmed that their first Snapdragon-powered devices since 2019’s Infinix Zero 6 series will be at least one member of the upcoming Note 60 lineup. According to Infinix, this marks an important step in their platform strategy as they aim to push beyond expectations to unlock potential in long term performance and product development.

“We are excited to collaborate with industry leader Qualcomm Technologies. This important step for Infinix advances our mission for a tailored user experience through in-depth hardware-software integration, utilizing Snapdragon platforms and technologies to deliver greater innovation and quality for customers globally,” Tony Zhao, Infinix CEO

While Infinix never fully confirmed which Note 60 series device will come with what Snapdragon platform, it seems pretty clear that it will be the Note 60 Pro being powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G system-on-chip.

A pre-order link shared by Infinix Nigeria showcased several of the upcoming Note 60 Pro’s features, which includes mention of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G platform. On top of that, it seems that the camera bump will include an active matrix display, similar to something seen before on the likes of the ROG Phone 9 Pro. There’s also mention of a 144Hz, 1.5K display, a 50MP main camera as well as a 6,500mAh battery.

As for Malaysia however, Infinix has yet to confirm if or when the Infinix Note 60 series will be coming to our shores, so stay tuned for more information.
