Youth Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) state president Digvijay Singh Chautala on Monday alleged the BJP governments at the Centre as well as the state had failed to control inflation. He said rising fuel prices were increasing difficulties for common people and farmers.

Chautala made the remarks while interacting with villagers during the party’s state-wide “Jan Jan Abhiyan” campaign in Sirsa district.

He visited villages including Bajekan, Phoolkan, Nezia, Dhingtania and Ramnagaria in Sirsa constituency, as well as several villages in Kalanwali constituency.

Addressing villagers, Chautala said what he called wrong policies of the BJP government had led to increasing bureaucracy in the state, and claimed that even ruling party workers were not being heard.

He said public anger was growing over the continuous rise in petrol and diesel prices as both the Centre and state governments had failed to control inflation. Farmers were already under pressure from costly fertilisers, seeds and pesticides, and the increase in fuel prices had further added to their burden, he said.

The JJP leader also claimed that a shortage of currency in banks exposed what he described as government failure. He alleged that efforts were being made to provide jobs in Haryana to youths from outside states instead of local candidates.

Chautala said only the JJP could effectively challenge the BJP government with public support, and urged young people to strengthen the party organisation at the grassroots level.
