Recently, PAS MP for Pasir Mas, Fadhli Shaari questioned PH and DAP candidate (for the by-election is taking place in Kuala Kubu Bharu) Pang Sock Tao’s academic credentials, after she did not reveal her UPSR and SPM results in her biodata.

She later went on to share her UPSR and SPM results, which showed straight A’s all around.

Now, social media influencer, Encik Richard, took to his Twitter account in an attempt to bash the candidate for attending a private school during her secondary school years.

He wrote, “The PH candidate has fallen into the trap! No wonder she did not want to reveal which school she went to. It turns out that the PH candidate studied in a private school. A RICH PRIVATE SCHOOL!!”

“She has the heart to take care of KKB (Kuala Kubu Bharu)? Have you ever had to struggle? Sitting under Nga Kor Ming’s armpit, she graduated only to be taken care of by DAP.”

Though, his statement didn’t quite sit well with Malaysians as they believe it’s not about the school you attend but the effort you make in your studies.

“At least the candidate has the mindset to want to make KKB rich, not make KKB poor. Education is important no matter where she studied. From her results, we can tell that she makes the effort to succeed.”

“I don’t understand why where you studied is a factor in wanting to become a politician. Do you think KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) studied at a underprivileged school?”

“She studied according to syllabus set by KPM (Ministry of Education), and she got A’s in BM and Sejarah (history). Can you show the PN candidate’s SPM results? I want to know his results in BM and Sejarah.”

“Most Chinese vernacular schools are private. That doesn’t mean that the parents of Chinese school students are rich people. But, it means that they are persistent in saving money to help their children succeed. My wife was from a private Chinese school, but her parents are not rich people.”

Do you think it should matter what school a candidate studied at or should their results matter more?

Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
