AFTER more than two weeks of intensive treatment and painful recovery, Corporal Syed Isfan Syed Mohammad has returned home to his family following the devastating Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) truck crash in Teluk Intan on 13 May.
The emotional reunion was shared on social media by his wife, Rasidah Suhada Zulkifli, 32, who expressed deep gratitude for his survival and return.
“Alhamdulillah, papa is back. We will continue to take care of him at home,” she wrote, accompanying a video of her husband being wheeled out of the ambulance and into their home by Civil Defence Force personnel.
Syed Isfan, who suffered serious internal injuries, fractures, and infections, was initially treated at Teluk Intan Hospital before being transferred to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh on the day of the incident.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Rasidah thanked friends and well-wishers who offered their support during what she described as weeks filled with pain and uncertainty.
“I would like to thank all my friends who sent messages of encouragement. We are very touched.
“Sorry I couldn't reply to all the messages from the first day of the incident until now, due to time and circumstances. Alhamdulillah, InshaaAllah, everything is okay. We are going through the process with acceptance and gratitude,” she said.
Confirming the discharge, Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the 32-year-old officer was released from HRPB at 3pm yesterday.
He added that three other officers—Corporal Haslizal Mohd Ali, 44; Sergeant Mazlan Mat, 50; and Sergeant Mohd Izwan Ishak, 39—remain under treatment at Teluk Intan Hospital. All have regained consciousness, although Mohd Izwan still requires oxygen support.
The first officer to be discharged was Corporal Nizam Tarmizi, 38, on the day of the incident itself, followed by Lance Corporal Muhammad Aniq Taufiq Rozi, 26, on 14 May; Corporal Mohd Harrisul Ikhsan Mohd Mahabudin, 39, on 16 May; Corporal Mohammad Zulnaidi Muhammad Zulkifli, 34, on 17 May; and Sergeant Mohd Parih Ali, 44, on 21 May.
The tragic crash occurred when an FRU truck from Unit 5 Sungai Senam, carrying 15 personnel, collided with a gravel-laden lorry at 8.50am. Nine officers lost their lives in the incident. - May 29. 2025
