KOTA KINABALU: The inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir heard on Wednesday of a newly discovered piece of written evidence following testimony from SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha warden Azhari Abd Sagap.

Azhari said the paper, written about Zara, was found hanging on a corridor fence after a school gotong-royong held shortly before the incident and was personally handed to him by Student D.

He testified that the writing read: “Zara Qai A35 sok badar terpaling mau jaga form 1 solat, tau la mau jadi badar...bodoh..lepas tu alasan kak Dayang suruh.”Azhari told the coroner that he surrendered the paper to the police a week after receiving it from the student.

Following the revelation, Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan adjourned the inquest early at 4.15pm, saying, “I have not read the reports… make sure there are no more surprises… provide all documents so everyone can read them,” with proceedings set to continue.
