Kota Kinabalu: The installation of the Temporary Diversion Towers, known as the Emergency Restoration System (ERS) in Ranau by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is progressing according to plan.

As a quick response to the urgent need to move the transmission line to the ERS tower since Feb 7, the State Government has provided emergency assistance by using Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) transport aircraft to deliver five ERS Tower containers from Selangor to Sabah.

SESB Chief Executive Officer Ir Ts Mohd Yaakob Hj Jaafar said two of the five containers sent by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) arrived on Tuesday while the remaining three containers are scheduled to arrive today (March 6).

Eight ERS towers will be installed by SESB together with TNB and the diversion works are expected to be completed in the middle of this month.
