Kota Kinabalu: Inculcating environmental awareness in schools is an effective way to encourage the next generation to explore, discover and develop a lifelong commitment to protecting the planet.
“In a rapidly changing world grappling with numerous environmental challenges, it has become increasingly important to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to become responsible stewards of our planet,” said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew.
Amid the worsening effects of global warming, Christina stressed the importance of empowering the younger generation with a deeper appreciation of the ecosystem, preventing further destruction of the environment, preserving natural heritage and promoting responsible use of natural resources.
