PAPAR: The Ijtihad As Shahabab group from Kampung Benoni emerged as champion in the Papar Parliamentary Kompang Festival held at the Datuk Salleh Sulong Hall, winning a cash prize of RM1,000 and a trophy.
The festival showcased an intense competition between seven teams in the final round which attracted nearly 2,000 attendees.
AdvertisementAs Sohabbah group from Kampung Surati took home RM700 and a trophy as the runner-up, while third place went to the Gema Warisan An Nur group from Kampung Nagapas and received RM500 and a trophy.
The prizes were presented by Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, who was also Papar Member of Parliament.
