Intel has officially launched the Core Ultra Series 3 in Malaysia. Okay, so technically these processors, dubbed Panther Lake, originally debuted at CES 2026 and laptops with these chips are already on shelves here too, but this official launch and announcement is basically Intel highlighting their presence in Malaysia.
To recap, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 is fabbed on their latest 18A process node and consists of their Cougar Cove P-cores, Darkmont E-cores and also Darkmont low power E-cores. They offer up to 16 cores in total, with up to 12 Xe3 Battlemage graphics cores, along with an up to 50 TOPS NPU 5 for a total of 120 TOPS across the whole chipset. There’s also support for up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-9600 and DDR5-7200 memory.

The semiconductor giant added that you can expect the best battery life in an Intel system ever with Panther Lake systems, while the Xe3 graphics offers improved gaming performance, with Intel demoing Battlefield 6 running off a thin-and-light laptop and getting 60fps and above, albeit with XeSS turned on.
“Intel Core Ultra Series 3 marks an important milestone in our client computing roadmap.
This launch reflects Intel’s continued progress in delivering stronger, more efficient platforms that bring together enhanced performance and built-in AI capabilities for everyday computing,” – George Chacko, GM Sales Group Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Intel Corporation

Separately, the non-Ultra Intel Core Series 3, dubbed Wildcat Lake, was only recently officially launched. It’s also built on 18A, and on paper there’s also Cougar Cove P-cores and Darkmont LP E-cores, but these are more for mainstream and accessible systems, with lower performance NPUs and integrated GPUs too.

Intel states that over 200 laptops designs with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors have or are coming soon globally, while for Intel Core Series 3, over 70 laptop designs are rolling out globally in the coming months.
