Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta has played down the prospect of buying in January.
Marotta has stated reaching the Champions League last 16 this season was a surprise.
He said: "When Inter take part in a competition, they must always try to get the most out of it, it being understood that there are top-level opponents. We do not set ourselves limits, we know we have to run for the Scudetto, for the Super Cup and to be protagonists in the Champions League, where the predictions were not in favour and the field - the sole judge - said that we qualified.
"It is a prize that is rightly recognised at Inter, but also the demonstration that the unpredictability of the Champions. January was called the repair market, it is not always possible to reach players of the highest value, we must start from the group we have: either other players are much stronger than ours, who are strong, or the squad will remain this one.
"The team was planned in the summer in the best possible way, with an amalgamation between the departments doing very well.
Besides Milan Skriniar, there are several players whose contracts are due to expire and Marotta also said: "As many as eight, all of them deserve confirmation. Then it is clear that the sporting and personal logics can lead you to different choices, but the esteem for these men and boys who have always given their contribution remains.
"In due course we will face every situation, even if within this small group there are different positions, starting from the personal conditions, but it is not something that worries us."
