Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer concedes a return to FC Basel is in his career plan.
The Switzerland international joined Inter only last summer.
But he told Neue Zurcher Zeitung: "If there was this possibility, I would like to return to Basel.
"I have a contract with Inter for another two and a half years, I'm completely focused on this at the moment. I can't say what will happen in 2026, if a year and a half ago they had told me that I would move first to Bayern and then to Inter I wouldn't have believed it possible."
He also said: "Today I am even more complete as a goalkeeper because throughout my career I have been exposed to different approaches to training theory. Italians train in a very game-oriented, creative and open way.
"It is important to know how to get the best from all the variations At Inter we give great importance to a well-maintained game structure, in which I am strongly integrated and in which I have a lot of contact with the ball. This is very in line with my ideas on a modern goalkeeping game."
