KENINGAU: Media practitioners here are advised to spread authentic news and avoid spreading fake news in various social media platforms.
Patron of the Keningau Journalists Association (KJA) Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin said this includes ensuring the validity and accuracy of information received for the public.
“Media practitioners in this district should continue to carry out their responsibilities as disseminators of government information and news to the people,” he said after witnessing the Swearing-In Ceremony of the Committee Members of the KJA 2022-2024 at a hotel here on Wednesday.
Jake also appreciated the close cooperation given by government departments to the media by channeling accurate news in the newspapers or other media flatforms.
Meanwhile, KJA President Marutin Ansiung hoped the KJA members would continue to be committed to their duties as journalists.
He also thanked the State and Federal Government agencies for their cooperation to the media in the district.
Marutin led a 10-member KJA Committee in the swearing-in ceremony.
They were Deputy President Francis Andin, Vice Presidents Robert Lee and Hector Zaimit, Sharon Caroline Ernest (Secretary General), Eleanor Ruby Macasantoa (Deputy Secretary General), Philip Ganang (Treasurer General), Committee members Jaurin Madasin, Rizalmi Liman and Ramian Ayub.
