The new phone was launched last week, at Apple’s biggest event of the year. The company revealed a host of new iPhones, Watches and AirPods.
The headline announcement was the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable phone and the most dramatic redesign to its most prominent product since it was first launched. But that phone will not arrive until 23 October.
In the meantime, Apple is now selling the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, a variety of Apple Watches and new AirPods. They are now available, after opening for pre-order last week.
Notably, Apple did not reveal a new, base iPhone 18. That is expected at a separate launch in the spring, in line with a new release schedule for Apple.
Unlike in the early years of the iPhone, most buyers pre-order their phones online, and do not have to line up to get them. But there were still queues at stores including those on London’s Regent Street.
The new iPhone 18 Pro brings a range of improvements to the camera, processor and battery life of Apple’s previously flagship model. It also came with a price increase, as well as suggestions by Apple that there might not be enough supply to meet high demand.
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first ever foldable phone, and bends in half. Pre-orders will open on 16 October, a week before it goes on sale on Friday, 23 October.
