The iPhone Duo might be the most in-demand smartphone I’ve seen in a long time. Last week, pre-orders officially went live, and within minutes, delivery dates were being pushed back to January next year. While Apple is reportedly moving dispatch dates forward, it’s going to be a Herculean task to find one on launch day.
It’s not a total surprise, however. Insiders have been warning about iPhone Duo supply constraints for months. It’s unclear whether the Duo is proving incredibly popular, there’s limited supply or, more likely, both. But it’s been reminiscent of the launch of the first iPhone in 2007.
Apple itself appears to have been caught off guard. “The pre-order demand for iPhone Duo, our first foldable iPhone, has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Apple said in a statement. “We are working hard to get this revolutionary new product into customers’ hands as quickly as possible.”
For a few days, mobile networks were the only retailers still offering iPhone Duo deliveries before Christmas, but even some of those are now quoting dates in 2027. Apple has also introduced a two-per-customer limit on online orders. Reports of limited walk-in stock on launch day

Some customers have been into their local Apple Store to ask – some have said there will be limited stock, others have said to check in on Saturday 24 October.
I’d recommend checking the Apple Store app early in the morning on 23 October to see if there are any Duos available for pickup.
I went to the Apple Store in Miami. I talked to one of the employees I know and he told me on Friday they should have Stock of the iPhone DUO. He said Saturday is the best day to try to get a Duo.

One user claimed their order updated from a 22 January expected delivery date to 16 November, moving up by two whole months.

Freemans sells out of iPhone Duo stock and removes it from the site

Apple has put a limit on iPhone Duo pre-orders
Tuesday 20 October 2026 13:55 , Alex LeeApple has now put a two-per-customer limit on the iPhone Duo, no matter which storage configuration or colour you choose. You won’t be able to buy more than two Duos.
Apple has never really had to deal with scalpers in the age of the internet, so it’ll be interesting to see how it handles the highly-limited iPhone Duo.
Users on Reddit have claimed that a two-per-customer maximum was not in place when the iPhone Duo first went on sale.
Apple Store could have iPhone Duo stock available for walk-ins on 24 October

Some are taking this to mean that Apple might have stock available for pick-up on 24 October. Personally, I just think it means Apple will release iPhone Duo collection slots, which could well be in 2027.
Currys announces when it'll restock the iPhone Duo
Tuesday 20 October 2026 11:49 , Alex LeeCurrys has told The Independent when it will next have iPhone Duo stock. Until this morning, Currys-owned Carphone Warehouse was still showing delivery by November.
“During the pre-order period, we’ve seen unprecedented demand for these products. Both Currys and Carphone Warehouse will have sold through their pre-order allocation before the end of this week,” David Sidebottom, senior buyer at Currys plc, told The Independent. He added that more stock is expected next month.
“We do have a limited amount of stock expected in mid-November, but to secure your place in the queue, we recommend ordering through Carphone Warehouse, where you’ll receive the latest information on expected delivery dates,” Sidebottom added.
“Alternatively, you can visit your local Currys store to experience these fantastic products in person and speak to one of our Tech Experts, who can also provide the most up-to-date advice on availability and delivery timelines.”

If you want it this year, I’d take a look at Freemans, who is estimating delivery within 3-7 days.
EE and O2 don’t have a 2026 delivery guarantee, simply stating that delivery will take more than for weeks.

According to MacRumors, Apple Store employees have been told to discourage customers from turning up on launch day, warning that there’s unlikely to be any stock available for walk-in purchases.
The report claims some retail staff have been advised that customers without pre-orders will come away “disappointed” .
Carphone Warehouse claims iPhone Duo will be delivered by November 2026
Monday 19 October 2026 10:15 , Alex LeeIf you’re still looking for an iPhone Duo, Carphone Warehouse seems like it’ll deliver first.
While EE and O2 state delivery in as early as “28 days” and “four weeks” respectively, Carphone Warehouse has an exact date for the 256GB model – 12 November 2026.
It also has some of the cheapest deals. It is selling the iPhone Duo with 100GB of data on the iD Mobile network for £85.99 per month and a £129 up-front cost. It’s a 24-month contract, so you won’t be tied down for years and years. You’ll pay about £2,220 over the course of the contract.
That’s £221 more than the cost of buying the iPhone Duo on its own, meaning you’re essentially paying just £9.20 per month for 100GB of data.

O2’s iPhone Duo pre-order deals are live, but are they any good?

The cheapest deal costs £68.57 per month with 5GB of data and just £30 up-front on a 48-month contract.
It’s not particularly generous on data compared with Vodafone or EE, but it’s cheaper. You can also get up to six months of Disney+ or another Extra included in the deal, plus O2 Priority perks and access to O2 Satellite at no extra cost.
Sadly, delivery is slipping at O2, with the carrier stating delivery will take three weeks.

I’ve just checked Apple’s website, and the £1,999 256GB iPhone Duo in black is showing a shipping date of 22 January 2027. Yes, January. That’s three whole months away.
I don’t know if there’s a huge wave of demand, or Apple just didn’t make enough iPhone Duos, but you won’t be getting one before Christmas if you opt for the 256GB model at least.

The iPhone Duo costs £73.57 per month with 25GB of data and a £30 up-front cost on a 48-month contract. If you want unlimited data, it’ll cost you £76.57 per month, again over 48 months.
You can get up to £624 when you trade in an eligible phone, and BT broadband customers can also get 30 per cent off selected plans.
All plans include access to EE’s 5G+ network, unlimited calls and texts. You can also gift unused data to family members.
Three has some great trade-in valuations if you choose the unlimited plan
Friday 16 October 2026 13:25 , Alex LeeThree probably has some of the best trade-in prices when it comes to the major carriers, with up to £1,035 when you trade in an eligible handset and take out an unlimited plan. That said, Three is definitely not the cheapest carrier around.
The iPhone Duo costs £74.44 per month with 30GB of data and a £100 up-front cost on a 36-month contract.
If you want unlimited data, it’ll cost you £83.44 per month. It does include roaming in 49 European destinations, however, and an extended warranty.
Sky's cheapest iPhone Duo pre-order deal comes with 1GB of data and costs £48 per month

The cheapest iPhone Duo deal at Sky Mobile costs £48 per month with 1GB of data and a £12 up-front cost.
For £61 per month, you can get a much more generous 75GB of data.
Both contracts are long, mind, with the contract lasting 48 months, though you have the option to upgrade after 36 months.
You can, of course, lower the cost even further by trading in your current handset. You can get up to ££535 by trading in an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
One perk with Sky Mobile is that you can roll unused data into a Sky Piggybank, change your data plan whenever you like and stream on Sky Go and Sky Sports without using your data.
How much does the iPhone Duo cost in the UK?

Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone features a 7.6in inner display, a 5.4in outer screen, the A20 Pro chip, two 48MP rear cameras and up to 44 hours of video playback. Apple’s also added split-screen multitasking to the iPhone for the first time.

What iPhone Duo pre-order deals can we expect to see?
Friday 16 October 2026 12:20 , Alex LeeYou won’t be able to find any deals on the iPhone Duo out right – the best way to get a saving is by trading in your current smartphone. That said, carriers will be launching pre-order deals, bundling the iPhone Duo with data packages and carrier perks, including discounts on your monthly payment or boosted trade-in values.
And while it’s a little tricky to predict the kind of deals we’ll see later this afternoon, given Apple’s never released a foldable we can compare previous deals to, we can look at other similarly priced foldables, such as the £1,799 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, for an idea of what to expect.
The cheapest deal for the Z Fold 8 could be found at Sky Mobile, which was offering the handset from £52 per month with 1GB of data. EE was selling the Z Fold 8 for £49.83 per month with 25GB of data on a 48-month contract. Given the iPhone Duo costs a similar amount, I’m predicting monthly prices to be around the same £50 mark.
Apple reportedly ramps up production of iPhone Duo by 30%

A new report from China’s Securities Times claims that Apple has increased production by 30 per cent in anticipation of higher demand.
According to the publication, it had initially ordered 6-7 million units to last the year, but ordered units have now increased to 10 million.
