Alexander Isak’s brace secured a first Premier League win of the season for Liverpool are they defeated Ipswich 2-0 at Portman Road.
The Reds remain unbeaten under new boss Andoni Iraola, thanks to two previous draws, with the manager admitting before the game that he was frustrated not to have won with Liverpool yet.
But he had no need of frustration against the Tractor Boys as Isak, supplied both times by Cody Gakpo, fired the visitors into the lead and doubled the score inside the opening 10 minutes.
Ipswich were decent but lacked quality in the final third which cost them in their pursuit of a come back but the night will be remembered for Isak’s revival and his developing relationship with Gakpo. Liverpool secure the points and set down a challenge for their rivals ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.

Ipswich are looking to bounce back from a 5-2 defeat to Manchester United last time out but will know tonight’s encounter is another difficult ask.
